This service allows healthcare professionals to obtain an assessment certificate to attain a health professional title, based on educational qualifications and professional experience.

Service summary:

This service allows healthcare professionals to submit a request to evaluate their professional skills and competencies. The application and supporting documents will be reviewed to ensure that all requirements are met prior to approval.

Required documents:

  • Valid Passport Copy.
  • Valid emirates ID copy.
  • Birth certificate, mother EID or passport for children of Emirati women.
  • Recent PSV reports (if available) and exam exemption documents (if available).
  • Academic qualification.
  • Transcript Certificate/Marksheet. (If required)
  • Internship completion certificate (GP, Dental GP, or TCIM practitioner).
  • Copy of current license (if any).
  • Recent work experience certificate (if any).
  • Good standing certificate (CGS) issued by the current licensed health authority (if any).
  • Residency training program (if applicable).
  • Surgical logbook (for surgical specialties) for last two years.

Conditions & Requirements:
  • The applicant must have a valid assessment certificate issued by the Sharjah Health Authority at the time of submission.
  • There should be no gap of practice more than two years.
  • Qualification must be accredited and from recognized institute.
  • All submitted documents must be in Arabic or English language, if not it must legally translate.
  • Applicants who required to take an exam must accept the disclaimer and state the number of previous attempts with other UAE health authorities.
Service Process:
  • Login to SHA portal.
  • Complete the required information, upload the required documents, recent data flow reports (if available), exemption documents (if available).

  • Pay the required fees (application fees, review fees, data flow, and exam fees “if any”).
  • Issuance of the health professional assessment certificate upon fulfilling all requirements and passing any required examination.

  • Physicians/Dentists/ TCIM Practitioner: 500 Dhs.
  • Allied health professionals/TCIM Therapists/ Nursing & Midwives/Pharmacist: 300 Dhs.

Who can apply for the Healthcare Professional Assessment service?

All healthcare professionals listed in the Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR) in the UAE are eligible to apply.

Can a healthcare professional start working after obtaining the assessment certificate?

A healthcare professional may begin practicing only after receiving the official professional license issued by the Sharjah Health Authority. The assessment certificate is an initial step to verify qualifications and does not authorize practice.

What is the surgical logbook?

It's a certified record of surgical procedures carried out by the applicant within their surgical specialty over the past two years, detailing each procedure’s name, date, total case number, and the applicant’s role (main surgeon or assistant), with an official signature and stamp from a medical director.
