Sharjah Health Authority Organizes Awareness Event on the Occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day

The Sharjah Health Authority organized an awareness event on the occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day, targeting school students to raise their understanding of the disease and highlight the importance of humane interaction with those affected. This initiative reflects the Authority’s commitment to engaging youth and students in community efforts that promote mental and psychological health. The program included a series of interactive activities and educational presentations introducing students to Alzheimer’s disease, its stages, and healthy habits that may contribute to its prevention. The event also focused on how to interact with Alzheimer’s patients by presenting practical models simulating real-life situations. These helped students understand patients' needs, encouraged patience and empathy, and emphasized the vital role of families and the community in supporting this group. The event featured innovative educational activities, including memory games and awareness videos, which created a positive atmosphere of participation and enhanced students’ ability to absorb information in a simple and enjoyable way. The Sharjah Health Authority affirmed that this initiative aligns with its strategic plan to raise awareness among younger generations about key health issues and to instill human values in dealing with the elderly and patients, in line with the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah to build a healthy, conscious, and sustainable society.
