This service allows for the review of care leave requests submitted by female employees of the Sharjah Government who have given birth to premature babies requiring special care due to critical health conditions. The purpose is to take an appropriate decision regarding the request (approval – partial approval – rejection).

Service Procedures:

• Submit the request through the Medical Committee's electronic system.
• The application will be reviewed by administration staff, and any missing documents will be requested if necessary.
• A final decision will be made by the medical committee Doctors.

Required documents:

• A medical report approved by the competent medical authority.
• An official medical document confirming that the employee is the sole caregiver of the child, including the duration of care (whether in hospital or at home).
• Proof of relationship (e.g., birth certificate, Family book).
• Identification documents of both the caregiver and the patient.

Conditions:

• The care leave must be requested after the completion of maternity leave.
• The maximum duration of care leave is one year with full salary, following maternity leave.
• The leave may be extended, with the approval of the competent authority in the government entity, for a period not exceeding three years, and must be renewed annually based on an approved medical report from the competent authority.
• In accordance with the above clause, if the child’s health condition improves, the care leave will be terminated by the competent authority of the government entity, and the employee will be granted a permit according to the periods determined by the competent medical authority.
