Workshop “My Hero Child” to Support Mothers in Preparing Their Children for the School Year

On the occasion of back-to-school season, the Sharjah Health Authority organized an awareness workshop titled “My Hero Child.. Ready for the New School Year”, targeting the Authority’s female employees and Sharjah Healthcare City staff, especially mothers, to support them in creating a healthy and positive home environment for their children as the academic year begins. The workshop presented simplified scientific content specifically designed for mothers, covering practical topics such as the ideal school bag, healthy meal ideas, the importance of sleep and time management, in addition to psychological support methods for the child. The program also provided space for open questions and sharing experiences among participants, enhancing positive communication and exchange of expertise. This initiative comes within the Authority's efforts to empower working mothers and support the balance between mental health and daily family routines at the start of the school year.

“Infection Control: The Role of Social Workers in Awareness and Prevention” Workshop Highlights Field Protection

The Sharjah Health Authority, in collaboration with the Social Services Department and University Hospital Sharjah, organized an awareness workshop titled “Infection Control: The Role of Social Workers in Awareness and Prevention”. The workshop targeted field workers with the aim of raising health awareness and strengthening preventive practices in work and community environments. The workshop addressed the importance of adhering to safety and preventive measures while performing field duties, and highlighted the role of social workers in spreading health awareness within the community. It also emphasized proper practices related to personal hygiene, sterilization, and the importance of taking preventive vaccinations. Additionally, the workshop shed light on the value of continuous education and hands-on training in empowering social workers to effectively deal with different field situations and ensure that their services are provided in a manner that safeguards both their health and the health of community members.

“Emotional Intelligence, Your Feelings are Power” Workshop Empowers Girls' Mental Health

As part of its efforts to promote mental health among young girls, the Sharjah Health Authority organized an awareness workshop titled “Emotional Intelligence, Your Feelings are Power” at Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah. The workshop targeted girls aged 13 to 18 and was delivered by Ms. Shahad Faiz Al Yafei, Director of the Public Health Department, in a simplified and interactive style. The workshop addressed various topics such as expressing emotions in a healthy way, the impact of nutrition, breathing exercises, and building self-confidence. The girls actively engaged with the interactive activities, which helped reinforce the concepts discussed. During the session, Ms. Shahad Al Yafei emphasized: “Girls need a safe space to understand and express their feelings. Emotional intelligence is one of the key elements to building strong character and achieving psychological balance.” This initiative is part of a series of awareness programs through which the Authority seeks to empower girls and support them psychologically using modern and effective approaches.

“How to Protect Your Bones?” Workshop Raises Awareness on Bone Cancer and Prevention

In conjunction with Bone Cancer Awareness Month, the Sharjah Health Authority organized an awareness workshop titled “How to Protect Your Bones?”, targeting the Authority’s employees and Sharjah Healthcare City staff. The workshop featured an interactive discussion session that addressed the main causes of osteoporosis and methods of prevention, emphasizing the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle that includes proper nutrition and physical activity. As part of the program, participants also received screenings to check for essential minerals and vitamins that contribute to bone health, within an encouraging environment that promoted prevention and regular health monitoring.

Sharjah Health Authority Launches Awareness Initiative on IVF World Day to Support Reproductive Health

On the occasion of IVF World Day, the Sharjah Health Authority, in collaboration with University Hospital Sharjah, launched an awareness initiative aimed at spreading health knowledge about fertility techniques and supporting couples facing challenges with conception. The Authority emphasized that this participation comes within the framework of engaging with global health occasions and enhancing family quality of life by fostering understanding of reproductive health.
