The Sharjah Health Authority announced today the launch of a book titled "Children's Rights in Healthcare," aimed at doctors and healthcare professionals in the United Arab Emirates. This announcement was made during a meeting between His Excellency Dr. Abdelaziz Al Mheiri, the Chairman of the Authority, and a representative from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Mr. Tayeb Adam, along with members from the Sharjah Child Friendly Office affiliated with the Authority.

Healthy Cities Program
Sharjah Health Authority held its second meeting of the Executive Committee for expanding the scope of Healthy Cities Program in the Emirate of Sharjah, with the presence of His Excellency Dr. Abdelaziz Al-Mheiri, the President of Sharjah Health Authority, and several senior officials from departments and institutions of Sharjah government.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Sharjah Health Authority and the University of Sharjah at Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology.
The memorandum of understanding, signed by Excellency Dr. Abdelaziz Al-Mheiri, the President of the Sharjah Health Authority, and Dr. Humaid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, aims to develop opportunities between the two entities to utilize their expertise and resources in all areas that support the development of healthcare professionals in all specialties and improve the quality of medical services in the Emirate.
The scope of the memorandum of understanding includes the following: provide training programs that support professional development and enhance the capabilities of employees from both entities, join together in organizing conferences and scientific events, collaborating in the field of research and innovation, adopting continuous professional development programs licensed by the Sharjah Health Authority in the Emirate of Sharjah,
exchanging visits, experiences, and knowledge that contribute to achieving the goals set by both entities to enable and develop health services, sharing knowledge resources and electronic training programs available at the Clinical Training Center and the Sharjah Surgical Institute with employees of the Sharjah Health Authority, and collaborating in the use of facilities between the two entities.

Mental Health and the Lifecycle
The Sharjah Health Authority, in collaboration with the Ishaq Bin Omran Medical Center, organized a workshop titled "Mental Health and the Lifecycle" as part of their educational seminar series. The aim of these seminars is to enhance health awareness and instill healthy behaviors in individuals and communities. Dr. Miada Banaja, a specialist in psychiatric medicine and psychotherapy, led the workshop. The workshop was attended remotely by a number of employees and retirees from the Sharjah government to reach as many participants as possible and raise cognitive awareness about mental health and the lifecycle.

The Sunny Health Center
Sheikh Majid bin Hamad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Economic Group for General Trade in Sharjah, accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Abdelaziz Saeed bin Butti Al Mheiri, Chairman of Sharjah Healthcare City, today inaugurated the first phase of construction work for the Sunni Health Center located in the Specialized Clinics Complex in Sharjah Healthcare City. Dr. Abdelaziz Saeed bin Butti Al Mheiri said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the health center extends over an area of 11,000 square feet and its cost is estimated at 10 million dirhams. It will be fully completed within the next six months and is considered one of the pioneering projects in its idea due to its focus only on women. And her needs, health, and well-being. It will include sections for nutrition, physical therapy, yoga, recovery, and specialized skin treatments, pointing out that it combines traditional treatment with Ayurvedic treatment, which is the ancient Indian treatment. These treatments will include all stages of a woman’s age, starting from childhood until she reaches adulthood. Advanced age (old age).
Al Mheiri explained that Sharjah Healthcare City is a free zone that was launched in 2012 by an Amiri decree from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Its area extends over 4 million square meters and currently includes specialized clinics in cosmetics, gynecology, and psychological treatments. Dermatology, pointing out that the city, thanks to its advantages, attracts many investors. At the beginning of next year, 2024, a specialized oncology center will join the city, in addition to establishing a private hospital with 120 beds and another home care center.

The Sharjah Health Authority organized a workshop titled "A Journey in the Concept of Quality of Life" delivered by trainer Aliya Al Shamsi, a specialist in therapeutic nutrition and a health coach. The workshop aimed to attract employees from various departments and institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah, with the goal of promoting a healthy lifestyle, enhancing mental well-being, adopting positive thinking as a fundamental value, and building life skills. High quality of life fills us with happiness and satisfaction, which reflects on our overall health and vitality. It also impacts our social relationships and professional success, ultimately leading to personal well-being and life achievements.
Additionally, Ms. Shahad Fayez Al-Yafei, the Head of Project Monitoring Department at the Sharjah Health Authority, emphasized that the management of healthcare cities within the authority focuses on tasks and activities that support health and are based on the principle of improving the quality of life in environmental, social, and economic aspects. The aim of today's workshop was to reinforce this principle and achieve the program's objectives to make Sharjah a healthy city
