Initiated under the auspices of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Health Authority (SHA) was formed in May 2010. The key objective of the Authority is to enhance, evolve and regulate the healthcare system in the Emirate of Sharjah. Thus transforming the Emirate as the most sought after healthcare destination in the region.
Since its establishment, forces are working to provide all preventive, curative and promotional services to the individual and society with a distinguished level of quality and effectiveness through a sophisticated health policy that contributes to the comprehensive development of the Emirate. Sharjah is now accredited from the World Health Organization to be the first health city in the Middle East and North Africa.
In light of the rapid developments in the levels of health services in the world, the team in Sharjah Health Authority is committed to develop the health system, seeking to achieve a sustainable development in the health sector.
The team is also aware that maintaining a sustainable health system requires the ability to face challenges, develop strategies, policies and regulatory procedures, provide the best resources and the latest technologies, adopt initiatives and strengthen partnerships with the relevant sectors. With the aim of improving the quality of health services provided and achieving a high level of health, prevention and treatment in the Emirate.
