The Executive Committee of the "Sharjah Healthy City" Program Holds Its First Meeting of 2025

The Executive Committee of the “Sharjah Healthy City" program held its first meeting of 2025 on Wednesday, March 5, under the chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Abdelaziz Al Mheiri, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority and Chairman of the program's Executive Committee, at the Authority's headquarters. H.E. Dr. Abdelaziz Al Mheiri emphasized that expanding the scope of the Sharjah Healthy City program aligns with the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to establish Sharjah as a “healthy emirate” and improve the quality of life for its residents. This is achieved through strengthened collaboration among relevant entities and sectors to ensure a sustainable healthy environment, following global best practices. The meeting began with the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting to ensure continuity in implementing the committee’s approved expansion plans for the "Sharjah Healthy City" program in line with sustainable development goals. Committee members reviewed the recommendations of the first training workshop, held in collaboration with the WHO Regional Office, which aimed to explain the program’s mechanisms, standards, and expansion strategies for implementing health initiatives. The meeting also highlighted Sharjah’s delegation participation in the Second Kuwait Conference on Healthy Cities in February, benefiting from successful regional experiences to support the program’s development. Additionally, discussions covered the "Evidence Platform," developed in collaboration with the Department of Statistics and Community Development. This digital tool is designed to document and analyze health data, supporting strategic planning and decision-making.
