Sharjah Leads Health Transformation with the Healthy Cities Program

The Executive Committee for the Expansion of the Healthy Cities Program in Sharjah organized an extensive workshop with the participation of 105 government employees from various cities of the emirate. The workshop aimed to strengthen commitment to global health standards. His Excellency Dr. Abdelaziz Al-Mheiri, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority, emphasized the importance of the meeting in enhancing cooperation and implementing global health standards, in line with the directives of the Ruler of Sharjah to achieve sustainable development. Dr. Samar El Feky, Regional Advisor for Health Promotion and Social Determinants of Health at the World Health Organization’s Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office, delivered a presentation covering the principles of the Healthy Cities Program. She highlighted the importance of addressing social determinants of health and praised Sharjah's regional leadership.
