Sharjah Expands Healthy Cities Initiative: Reviewing Progress and Future Plans

The Executive Committee for the Expansion of Healthy Cities in Sharjah organized its third meeting today, Thursday, May 23, at the headquarters of the Sharjah Health Authority, with the attendance of its members. The meeting aimed to discuss the latest developments related to expanding the scope of healthy cities by following up on the implementation of the World Health Organization's healthy city standards. His Excellency Dr. Abdelaziz Al Mheiri, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority and Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Expansion of Healthy Cities in the Emirate of Sharjah, emphasized the importance of concerted efforts and continued work to expand the scope of healthy cities to include Khorfakkan, Kalba, Al Dhaid, and other cities in the emirate in the future. He also reviewed the Executive Council's decision to expand the geographical scope of healthy cities to include Khorfakkan, Kalba, and Al Dhaid. His Excellency Dr. Abdelaziz Al Mheiri noted that the Emirate of Sharjah is diligently working to provide the highest levels of services and sound health standards to ensure and achieve the well-being of Sharjah's residents. He praised the various achievements and initiatives from different government entities and departments in Sharjah that contribute to the program's objectives and provide a sustainable healthy environment in the emirate according to the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
